Initially, upon packing for this trip, I had a bit of anxiety simply because I had no idea what to pack. The company I partnered with for this trip had also suggested refraining from wearing certain clothing items, as it would be deemed inappropriate. (Kenyans tend to dress in a conservative manner) And on the other hand, the beau would tell me that it’s not that hot in Kenya and to dress around that. I was so confused, my ignorance had led me to believe that Africa, in general, was super hot. Boy, was I WRONG.
In Nairobi, the weather usually feels like fall/spring almost all year long (depending on the region). Most of our activities were always in the daytime and spent in the Safari for the majority of our time there. Needless to say, I packed enough to get me by. Check out the outfits I wore in Kenya.
Comfort > Fashion
I love me a pair of joggers or sweats! It’s my favorite thing to wear for optimal comfort. I also tend to shop for menswear, they have a better fit.
Joggers (Forever 21)
In Kisumu (6 hours away from Nairobi) the weather was warmer. I was so excited to bust out the shorts and tank tops and soak up the sun.
White Tee (Sammy B)
My options were very limited for warm apparel, but next time I will be more prepared.
